Meet our Guides: Ben McLam

Ben McLam grew up on a farm in Fairfield Idaho where he says he got his first job driving a tractor long before he had a driver’s license. Ben attended Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado, and graduated in 2012 with a music degree. He loves playing the piano (“Like Beethoven” according to another guide who’s heard him play). Or for that matter, he loves anything musical. We’re expecting some pretty good thwart-drumming and raft-paddle-playing this summer. » More Info «

Meet our Guides: Josh Shannon

Josh Shannon is from Colorado Springs and has been involved with Vessels for Honor Rafting Co. since a family friend, Dwight Grant, started the company. So it was only natural that when Josh was old enough he joined the team and became a guide for VFH. 2013 will be his 6th season guiding on the Arkansas River, and his second season with Journey Quest. In December, Josh graduated from Colorado State University in Pueblo with a Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Leadership and Recreation Management and is quite happy to finally be done with college. » More Info «

Meet our Guides: Cori Ward

Cori Ward is from Cedaredge, Colorado, and is nearing completion of her teaching degree at Colorado Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado. She’s one of those crazy people who loves hanging out with Middle-School and High-School students, especially as a Young-Life leader in the Grand Junction area, where it seems it is way too common to see Cori in a ridiculous costume or covered in shaving cream. Cori is a fun-lovin’ gal who enjoys rafting, backpacking, and ice climbing, but especially loves the opportunities that these adventures bring for building friendships and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with everyone she meets. » More Info «
