As we near the beginning of our 2018 season, we’re excited to introduce you to the guides who are ready to serve your family or your group this summer!
Elise Schoephoerster lives in Grand Junction Colorado when she’s not at Journey Quest. She recently graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a degree in Exercise Science with plans to go into Physical Therapy. When Elise isn’t keeping people caffeinated (aka working as a barista) or keeping babies alive and happy (#nannylife) she likes to play outside in the water and the mountains. She’s also a huge fan of snowboarding, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee. Elise is addicted to hot tea and works part-time as a wedding photographer.
This will be her 7th year working with Journey Quest, and she says, “I’m so excited to be back for another summer of chaos and fun.” Elise says, “There are a million little things God has taught me over the past six summers, but I think the biggest thing has been learning to be vulnerable with my fellow guides. I love learning to ‘do life’ with them as the body of Christ, rather than trying to do everything on my own.” She says, “We seek Jesus together, and that gives us a really strong team that is ready to go out and love on the people who come through our doors.” As a friend from New Zealand once told Elise, “You get to journey towards Jesus, come alongside people, and love the living daylights out of them!” She is excited to do just that this summer.
